Hythe Rotary Club works to support the people of Shepway and raises money for donations to support caring organisations, youth groups and other worthy local causes.
Each year we organise the Round the Houses races, arrange trips for the elderly, and assist with interview experience for students at local secondary schools.
The four Shepway Rotary Clubs combined to present a Youth Speaks Competition at the Tower Theatre on Saturday 25th January for teams from local schools. The prizes included a £100.00 for the winning schools and, courtesy of Damian Collins, and a visit to the House of Commons for the winning teams.

Rotary President John Gabris hands cheque to Head Teacher Sara Wakefield, as once again the Rotary Club of Hythe supports a project that enhances the local community.
The Club identified a need for audio-visual presentation equipment at local Palmarsh Primary School. Unfortunately, in the current economic climate, the school did not have access to funding for a permanent projector and screen in the school hall. This was something needed for lessons, daily assembly and entertainment for the entire school.
The annual Christmas collection for local charities by Hythe Rotary Club members in the High Street proved once again - if any proof is needed - the generosity of members of the public in Hythe . Despite sometime appalling weather conditions people still put money into the collecting boxes as they were passing. The total collection for the eight days before Christmas was £2589 plus £370 making a grand total of £2959. Thank you to everyone for your continuing support and generosity.

The 20th festival of Round The Houses running was supported by near record entries and raised £1,700 towards youth projects in Shepway. Prizes were presented by Dr Jeremy Bunting of Smiths Medical International Ltd.

Hythe Rotary club held a charity golf day at Sene Valley on 8th April 2010 and raised £2100 for Shepway Youth projects.
