Robin Hood, or Friar Tuck at least, came to Leeds Castle in the form of John Howard to persuade people to throw wet sponges at ‘sinners’. Bravely taking their place in the stocks were John Howard, Mark Tague, Ken Berkin and President David.
Much fun was had, especially by the children and one father even took a turn for his kids to wet him! Macintoshes and towels were provided, but to limited effect. The wind destroyed our 2 gazebos but everyone carried on regardless and nearly £80 was raised. We seemed to do better than many other stalls and it would be well worth doing again next year. It was a great advert for Rotary with about 10,000 of the public attending over the 2 days.
